Known as Tunjuk Langit — “pointing to the sky” — the Chengal finial has crowned Malay houses, mosques and pavilions for centuries. Each piece marks the apex of the roof where rafters meet, both a structural anchor and a symbol of the home.

Hand-carved from Chengal

Each finial is hand-carved from Chengal and commissioned through our yard. Chengal is naturally durable — resistant to weather, insects and decay without chemical treatment — which is why it has been the traditional choice for exposed roof timber.

Two standard sizes, or commissioned to spec

The 3" × 3" × 3 ft form suits traditional pavilions, gazebos, and smaller pitched roofs. The 4" × 4" × 4 ft form is the classical size for full Malay houses and heritage restorations. For oversized commissions or non-standard silhouettes (Buah Buton variants, custom carving), reach our trade desk.
